"So that's what happened?" Lucas asked feeling concerned, staring at Dawn's bedroom door outside.

"Yeah, I know she's never been one to mince words but I didn't expect her to be so harsh either," Kat said after explaining the visit to Director.

"And what did she say when you guys got back yesterday?" Lucas asked.

"She said she wanted to be alone," Kat said as she looked at Dawn's door. Lucas sighed. "How're the purifiers?"

"They've been malfunctioning quite a bit since Alessia's passing but I can't figure out why," Lucas said scratching his head. "They've been completely shutting down and it takes a while to get them back on again, I think it's time to replace them,"

"Great, that's another thing we need to tell Director about," Kat said as she sighed.

"You could just ask Harmony to fix them, she's really good with technology too," a voice said. Kat and Lucas looked behind them startled. "Good to see you guys again, long time no see Lucas,"

"What're you doing here?!" Kat yelled as she turned around to face Scarlett.

"Scarlett!? How did you get in?" Lucas asked facing Scarlett.

"Are you really surprised?" Scarlett said raising an eyebrow behind them, she held up a pair of keys on a chain. "Remember? Queen Alessia gave me a pair,"

"O-oh that's right," Lucas said. "She gave you those keys to use the training gear,"

"Yeah, as for why I'm here," Scarlett pushed past the two of them. "I came to check on my friend, I heard Director and Prism were kinda harsh on her about the whole non-Tormentor Princess thing," she said opening the door.

As Scarlett opened the door she looked inside in awe. Dawn's room was much bigger than the room she shared with the other orphans. She looked over to the bed and a small pile underneath the covers.

"Come on, Princess," Scarlett said running over to the bed and jumping on top of the pile.

"Ow!" Dawn yelled and angrily looked at Scarlett but her anger quickly changed into confusion seeing a smiling Scarlett in her bed. "What're you doing here?" she questioned Scarlett.

"Isn't this what friends do? They come to cheer each other up when the other is sad," Scarlett said.

"Friends?" Dawn looked confused.

"Yeah, friends," Scarlett paused. "You know what those are right?" she joked.

"No, I mean yes, I just thought you'd still be angry at me you know since our game," Dawn explained.

"Nah, I'm a competitive person but I don't hold a grudge against stuff like that," Scarlet said laughing. "Plus you weren't going to win anyway, I was surprised you still stayed on the court after the first ball hit you,"

"I literally couldn't leave, the court was blocked off," Dawn explained. "And if you knew I was never going to win, why make the bet in the first place?"

"When I was younger, Queen Alessia was the first person I played dodgeball with, we made the same bet," Scarlett explained. "I got my ass handed to me but she was the only person that would play with me regularly when I was at the orphanage,"

"What about Lana, Silas and Prism?" Dawn asked.

"At that time, it was just me and Prism," Scarlet said. "Lana and Silas hadn't arrived at the orphanage yet and Prism was always locked inside reading some book so she wasn't interested in playing with me,"

"That bunker is an orphanage?" Dawn asked.

"No, it's the place Director had to move us to after the Seven attacked the orphanage, she said it was a place she stores old projects,"

"The Seven?"

"You don't know about the Seven?" Scarlet said sitting up and looking at Dawn. Dawn shook her head. Scarlett sighed. "The Seven are a group of Gifts tasked with protecting the Gifted Monarchs, Number Three usually takes care of the executions," Scarlett explained.

"If they're supposed to protect the Gifted Monarchs, why did they attack a Tormentor orphanage?" Dawn asked and Scarlett shrugged.

"Only Director knows and she wouldn't tell us,"

"Why not?"

"Damn you ask a lot of questions," Scarlett laughed. "She said it was confidential since it related to the status of one of the orphans who lived with us,"

"Lived?"

"Yeah, a lot of the orphans that lived with us got adopted by Normals," Scarlett told Dawn. "Kinda funny isn't it?"

"What's funny about that?" Dawn asked, Scarlett looked at Dawn confused.

"Usually Normals do everything they can to get rid of us but a bunch of Normals decided to adopt the very thing they want to run out of their nation," Scarlett explained. "Guess we can thank Director and Prism for that,"

"Why did you guys not get adopted?" Dawn asked.

"I've been adopted many times but I usually get brought back to Director," Scarlet said.

"How come?"

"You saw exactly why," Scarlett said sounding a bit sad. "Normals only keep the children that can act...normal and I can't do that,"

"I'm sorry Scarlett,"

"Don't be," Scarlett said getting up from the bed. "Despite all the times I've been adopted, Director always welcomed me back with open arms. The orphanage is where I belong and it's where I choose to stay, I know the others feel the same way which is why they stay too. Now get out of this bed, it's like almost midday,"

"But-"

"No buts, if you want the approval of my siblings then you better get on it," Scarlett said with her hands on her hips. "Prism doesn't like lazy people,"

"Fine, I'll get up,"

"Great 'cause they'll be here like any minute," Scarlett said as she left the room.

"What?!" Dawn said jumping out of bed. "Why didn't you say so earlier?!"

"You were already moody so if you're anything like Lana then it wouldn't have mattered," Scarlett told her, she looked at Lucas and Kat as she walked out of the room. "For caregivers, you guys suck at your jobs," Scarlett said to them then walked down the hall.
